What makes a good surgical trainer: Trainees’ perspective

Postgraduate surgical training in Egyptian medical schools adopts the traditional apprenticeship model. This qualitative exploratory research aimed to explore the perspective of surgical trainees about what makes a good surgical trainer. The study followed grounded theory methodology for data collection and analysis. From the trainees’ view; the construct of a good surgical trainer included four main components. A model has been created to represent the links among these components.
